Last week, U2 performed in Madrid for the first time in 13 years with two sold out concerts at the Wizink Center as part of their eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE tour. A spectacular and multifaceted set design that allowed the band to make use of the entire space of the arena, including the main stage, B stage and the catwalk as well as pop up “micro – stages” that were set up during the concert in order for the artists to be closer to the audience. This stage design (closer perhaps to what we’re used to from stadium shows) helped to create an intimate for all visitors. The giant LED screen that surrounded the catwalk on both sides generated a high visual impact as well as playing with transparencies and beautifully ilustrated video contents, a concept developed together with renowned stage designer Es Devlin. LD Eventos worked hand in hand with the tour production team in order to guarantee an effective and easy local production of the concerts in Madrid.
